It’s time for another Trade of the Week breakdown!

In Episode 30, I’ll show you a USD/CAD trade that I waited almost two weeks to take.

The setup started with something we don’t see very often in Forex: An opening gap.

But the gap itself wasn’t enough. Behind it was a significant heavy volume zone and that gave me a very specific place where I wanted to go long if the market eventually came back.

In the video, I’ll show you:
✅ How I use Volume Profile behind an opening gap to find trading levels
✅ Why I waited almost two weeks for this particular entry
✅ Where I placed my stop-loss
✅ Why I took profit relatively early because I was trading against a strong downtrend

The edge isn’t in chasing price. It’s in waiting for price to come to you.

P.S. September is here, so we’re running a Back to School Sale on our 4.8-star-rated trading courses, indicators, and tools.

If you’re tired of jumping from strategy to strategy and second-guessing every setup, this is a good time to build a clear trading process you can actually trust.

You’ll get the full training, my custom indicators, lifetime access, and help from our support team with installation and setup.

The first few minute

The first few minutes after the market opens can be chaotic.

Price can move fast, key levels get tested, and it’s easy to get pulled into the wrong side of the market.

That’s why Dan likes to prepare if-then scenarios before the open and wait for price to confirm which one is playing out.

In today’s video, Dan breaks down a clean trade from Thursday, August 27th, following the NVIDIA earnings gap, and shows you exactly what he was looking for:

✅ A bullish bias after the NVIDIA gap up
✅ Key pre-market levels mapped out before the open
✅ A sweep below the London session low
✅ A failed breakdown followed by aggressive buying
✅ Order Flow confirmation and a clean long entry
✅ How the setup developed just 12 minutes after the open

Risk Disclosure

Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones’ financial security or life style. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.

Hypothetical Performance Disclosure

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.
